ℹ️Note: compressing a PDF re-renders each page as an image to reduce size — great for scanned documents, but the resulting text is no longer selectable/searchable. The exact target size is best-effort, not guaranteed to the byte.

ℹ️Honest limitation: this sharpens, upscales and cleans contrast using standard image processing — it cannot reconstruct detail that genuinely isn't in the original scan the way AI photo-restoration tools claim to. Best for faint, low-contrast, or slightly blurry scans.

ℹ️Works best on flat, fairly uniform backgrounds (solid colours, simple gradients). Busy or textured backgrounds may need a higher tolerance and can catch bits of the subject too — increase tolerance gradually and watch the preview.
